Hi everyone,

I am planning on applying to SMPs for the upcoming cycle. I have started to fill out my apps and will submit them by beginning of feb, which is also when I'll find out about my cat score. I was planning on taking two classes (one repeat and the other is anatomy) this spring semester to boost my GPA up by a bit but can't decide whether that's a good idea or not. Any input you can provide would be great!

I'm subpar 3.0 (a lot of family problems during my sophomore/junior year of college) and have yet to get my mcat score though I was scoring between 28-31 on my practice exams so I'm really hoping my actual mcat score matches with that.

Thank you in advance!

I got into my SMP while taking postbacc classes, before any of those grades came out. Your GPA is subpar so you should be taking as many credits as possible to maximize your chances of medical school admission... a solid finish to your undergraduate career means more than signing up for an SMP, assuming that you're planning on applying to medical school while in whatever program you get in to.
