Step II Taking Comlex 2 late

Just needed some input. I've got my Comlex 2 scheduled for early Sept, but recently had a death in the family. I'm not really in the right mindset to take this exam. I was wondering if you guys thought taking it early Oct instead would hurt me with respect to interviews and matching. I'm doing general surgery if that matters. Thanks for any input you guys have.

We've been told it is best to have a complete application by the end of September. Of course if the death is causing you emotional distress and you won't do well then hold off. Sorry for your loss. If the rest of your app is good you should be fine.

Thanks for your reply and condolences. Yeah, my app is solid with 600+ on my Comlex 1. I'm just hoping I won't be tabled for not having my Comlex 2 scores in when I'm interviewing.

You have a good Step 1 for your specialty. Hold off on Step 2 if you aren't ready to take it.
