So I was planning on submitting my application online this week and take the DAT within another 2 weeks. Now I read here that you have to specify what date you're taking your DAT when submitting the app. So if I say like July 28th and then as it gets closer feel like I need to postpone like another 2 weeks or so, what would happen? Does any complications occur? Would the adcoms think that I am unorganized if I say one date and then change it as it approaches?

Any comments would be appreciated.

I did that.. I postponed for 3 days because I could take it at noon on the 18th instead of 9am on the 15th. I didn't even think about what adcoms would think. Anyone have any ideas?

I believe the DAT section of your application remains open for revision, until you submit your actual DAT scores. You might want to call AADSAS and double check this though:

You dont have to submit your app with DAT scores or any dates at all. I didn't. The schools get the DAT scores from the ADA anyway.

Some might say its good to see scores on your AADSAS but I think your better off submitting your app early and getting in your secondary app fee and getting the ball rolling.

Because it still takes 4 weeks for the ADA to send your official scores out from the day you take the actual exam.

Does it really take that long? I thought I read that your scores are sent within a week or two. Not questioning your post but does anyone have any definitive info on this?

Well I had called the ADA from the number on their website to inquire about when I could make an appointment for a re-take (being that you have to wait 90 days and all), and she said I had to wait 30 days from the date I last took it to re-apply...

which is besides the point of this thread..but anyway she said I had to wait that long because it takes them 30 days to send out the old DAT scores and they dont want you applying to retake before the scores from the one you just took are sent out. Which makes sense but I dont know if it takes exactly that long but thats what she told me.
