I'm taking the DAT at the end of this month and I feel so not ready for it especially that i'm weak in organic and English is my third language so my reading isn't fabulous. with this little time, having in mind that i have to take it in October to be qualified to apply for my in-state dental school, I'm already having nightmares about messing up on the darn test..Any one has good suggestions on what to focus on and how to improve my score? P.s. I'm heavily relying on Kaplan books and online materials, but those things are made to practice on an extended period of time, not just 3wks. Thas why i need to hear new ideas and learn about some strategy that will do me the trick.
thanks for your attention

I would highly recommend buying topscore pro (google search for their website). They provide 3 full length practice tests that will (in my opinion) best estimate what you will receive on your real DAT. You can order the electronic version which lets you download it within 24 hours of purchasing (from what i remember). Then study accordingly.

If you are only using kaplan for PAT then I would suggest buying CrackDAT PAT as kaplan is way to easy and will give you false hope.

There is nothing quick that will help your reading...Pick a strategy and then stick with it throughout the test.

Organic chemistry once again take time and memorize reactions. DAT Destroyer has lots of very good questions and also has easy to memorize road maps.

IN MY OPINION it is not worth taking it if you know you are going to do poorly. You will end up wasting money on the test and hurting yourself in the long run. Plus you will have to wait at least 3 months to retake. Study hard the first time and get it done right. Good luck👍

Reading - practice literally everyday if your having trouble, always time it and find a strategy that best works for you. If you are a slow reader - might try the search and destroy method. I used a method where I read the first full paragraph, first two lines of every subsequent paragraph and than read the conclusion.

I agree Crack the DAT PAT (kaplan isn't hard enough)/ top score is a great representative of the DAT

Organic - I used the kaplan book BUT supplemented w/ college orgo notebook. Get the DAT destroyer (great practice - its a little too hard but if you can get thru it, it'll help your score I went from 20 (first DAT) to a 24 orgo (2nd). I also crammed for my DAT re-take in a month while working F/T - though it was my second time around. Anyways good luck!
