Hi, I am starting to get a lil scared since it is only 10 days away. Anyone who has taken it, wat should i put more emphasis on, I am just worried about QR and Gchem sections. I heard that 90% word problem thing, and thats pretty scary!! Also, which is the closest to QR and Gchem section on the real thing from Topscore, DAT achiever, KSF, Kaplan. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!!

QR should be the easiest section in that its repetitive and methodical. Plus, many applicants tend to not give this section much emphasis in their preparations because they wonder how in the world does this apply to my dental interests. G chem and o chem can also be characterized as somewhat repetitive. Kaplan fo QR is WAY harder than the real thing--that's for sure; Topscore is pretty good. I dont have info for the other preparation material.

So the best bet is--I'm assuming you went over all your material already--so rehearse and review what you already know and whatever weak spots you find through your "quick" review--review those concepts again. Keep reviewing up until the day before test day!! (take a rest the day before the test to sit back and put things in perspective if you need to--that's what many high scorers do as well.)

Good luck! :luck:

I think I have got most of the concept down for the math but its all about tiem management now. I have been basically reading over the kaplan book about bio and AP bio Review book. Do you think, I will be iight by know most of the stuff in those two book as far as bio section go.

Yes those books should help you. For the bio section, the best you can prepare yourself is by using as much material you can to study. Of course the test can ask you almost anything, so if your unsure of a certain question on the exam at least you will have covered enough to eliminate wrong answers and better your chances of getting right answers. That's the key is knowing enough to make knowledgable guesses! And of course its always great if you definitly know the answer!

Plus if its about time management, time yourself while taking tests and do this over and over until you get sick of it! have fun.

Yea I plan on taking like 10 full length test before the real thing. That should help me out with that. Also, for Reading comprehension, what strategy worked for u the best. It seems like I always run out of time in that section.

Hi I just took a DAT achiever test for a first time, and I got 18-AA/18-TS/18-PAT. Is this a bad score. I ussually get better than that in Top score and KSF. I am a little worried now.

From what I hear is that DAT achiever is hard compared to kaplan and topscore. Your best goal is to not worry about the score, but your confidence in understanding the materials. The scores can be misleading in those programs. For reading comp, speed read and summarized each paragraph in your head and chose the best answer.

Yea, the speed read and answering afterwards works great for me, I got a 20--RC in DAT achiever, When you took urs, where u calm or lill paranoid. Thats the only thing i am worried about is to stay calm. I cant seem to do that, but i need to. Hopefully it will work out. Yea the PAT of DAT achiever is no joke, that stuff is prety hard, i only got a 18 in it.

I was nervious as heck and I think that's why I had the feeling I could have done better after the test. Practice meditation, relaxing whatever to kill the anxiety. Ususally the first section of the test, is the most nerve racking and will eventually settle. Even if you feel like your future is slipping from your finger tips, don't let go and lost hope in any section of the test--just keep going strong. If anything, the DAT is more of a test of how you keep your composure, control your anxiety and test of your stamina. You've reviewed and know your stuff so good luck and stay strong! 👍
