I am going to take the DAT next Sat, Sep 13rd. Does anybody know that if I could use the 15 minute introduction period to take the test? In other words, could I start 15 minutes earlier? I know this is kind of stupid, but I am just getting nervous. Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

the break is optional, but that doesn't mean you can get 15 more minutes on the sections...
like the 15minutes just goes away if you decided not to use the break but it won't be added to your test time.

I think he means the 15 minutes before the test, when you go through the introductory tutorial on how to use the computer.

I'm also taking my DAT next Saturday! :scared:

Yes you can skip through it. I just skipped through it, and just relaxed and got my mind focused right before the test. I took like 14 min and 30 sec... hehe... I wanted the full time, but I wanted to make the decision of when to start, not let the test decide for me. Ya know? Kinda like a phsychological thing. Anyways, yeah you could skip through it I suppose. I should have paid more attention to it because in the middle of the test I was like oh $hit, my question is cut off, but then I realized that there was a scrolly thingy that I missed. 🙂

You do not get extra time though

You can stop the breat after 30 seconds like the above poster but you dont get the extra 14 minutes to answer questions.

You could, but you could also use that valuable time to write down key notes, equations, or anything else that you think could slip your mind.
