Hi, I am taking DAT this May and I am studying with Kaplan DAT book. Would this be enough to achieve over 19 in DAT? And, which month (May or June) is easier to achieve higher score? I heard that June is better..

Thanks in advance;

Achieving higher DAT scores in some months over others? Can anyone confirm whether this is true or a rumor???

Rumor. The scores are based on a curve that takes into account all test takers scores. It says so somewhere on the ADA site but I'm too lazy to search for it.

Thanks for that, rose. If the DAT was "easier" in say, June rather than January, well... that would just be silly.

wwkkim, I'm curious why you are only aiming for a 19?

I'm in some sort of program that I have to score at least 19 to go to a dental school. Is 19 a hard score?

For what school?
Don't half ass study for the DAT and expect to get a 19. I recommend studying like you want to get a perfect score! Expand your options and don't limit yourself to just the school in the program, you may like others much better.

Yeah, go all out for it, shoot for the top. I'd also recommend more than just Kaplan Blue Book. Schuam's Bio for Bio and a few old textbooks for Chem/Bio Chem. Maybe and LSAT book for the reading. Get Topscore to practice everything, as you may know the material but taking a standardized test on the computer is a skill in itself.

Hello, my name is Oleg.
I live in Brooklyn,NY and very interested in finding study partner or partners who may be also interested in studying together for the DAT! I have knowledge on some topics more than on the others, but currently study on my own from the DAT Test Prep Books. As we all know, "two heads better then one" and " the more, the marrier". I figured studying with someone else will make the time go by more interesting and fun at the same time. Please let me know if you are interested or know someone who may be interested.

Thank you very much, in advance!
Sincerely, Oleg
