Taking DAT tommorow, tips?
Started by STACM
stay calm!!!! try to take deep breaths...oohhh and heres a huge tip...when you start the test the first like 10 biology questions your going to freak out but then after you answer like 10 or so youll start getting more calm as the test rolls along...so i would suggest if you have more time at the end of the sciences just go back to those first ten and re-check them cuz who knows you may have gotten too excited/nervous and made a mistake!!!
Good luck!
Don't bring anything other than your id's. Those should do the job.
The lockers are tiny so don't bring a huge backpack.
If you are going to eat during the break, just pack something small like a chocolate bar. Good luck!

i was going to eat a big burrito in the morning. i know most people say not to eat something like that, but id rather eat something really filling than be hungry half-way into the test
when i took the DAT i was so nervous my body didnt let me eat i had to like forcefully eat (prob the symptoms of fight or flight of the sympathetic nervous system stopping all contraction and blood flow to my stomach haha) but a burrito??? make sure the testing center has a nice bathroom that is very close thats all i have to say hahahahahh
I got soooo hungry half way through the PAT and my brain just shut down on me... It made me wish i ate a BIG breakfast in the morning. (I'm the type of person who has to eat every 2 or 3 hours)
If you're like me, eat a big breakfast (low in sugar, high in fiber!) before you head out. I wouldn't worry about getting itis early in the morning... I'd be more concerned about staying energetic and alert!

let some of your parasympathetic nervous system kick in.
u dont want to be too nervous 🙂
1)Don't forget to urinate! Make sure you empty all of it out prior to sitting down in front of the computer. More importantly, don't drink sweet stuffs because they tend to make you go pee faster (remember those stuffs about maintaining a normal glucose level? hehe)
2) Dress comfortably and nicely. It will help boosting your self-esteem which could lead to better performance. Remember, it's all about looking good!
3) During your break time, spend just a few minutes using the restroom. Go back to the testing center as quickly as possible to refocus on the subjects coming up (i.e., reading and maths). You will also want to write down some difficult mathematical formula to better prepare for the math section. For example, you may want to draw some angles to save some time in case trigonometrical problems arise.
4) Check for incomplete questions when you completed the sections. Sometimes, if you are clicking too fast, you might miss out a question or two. It will cause quite a damage. Good luck buddy. Now go smoke that DAT!

take each question as a separate entity. when you press the next button, focus only on the question at hand.
likewise...it between sections, dont worry about the past section. its over and theres nothing you can do now. good luck
