Hello, I'm a pre-dental student & I'm planning on taking the DAT in May of '08. When should I schedule to take the test? Should I do it now or wait until around February? Thanks!

I think it will be fine if you wait until February.
When you register online, you will be given the option to see all the test dates available in a 3 month period. At least that way, you can plan accordingly... because what if you find out that you have five exams the week of your DAT. That would suck. Then you would have to pay $10 to reschedule. 😛 I'm assuming you will find out about your exams once you get your syllabi for your spring semester classes.

I scheduled my August test date in early July...not that it's a bad thing to schedule your test date early, but you want to make sure you will be ready before you commit to takin the test (although you can always move it).

Upon paying to take the test, you have one year to then schedule an appointment and take it. In my case, I paid for the test and checked online on the Thomson testing services webpage to see when spots were available. I only scheduled my exam a week before I took it. This was in San Jose, CA where there are many test centers in the surrounding area though. But then there's also a lot of people. Either way, scheduling a test in February for May is unnecessary.
