I'm interested in taking an endocrinology (Hormones & Behavior) class, and it's a very experimental based and quite difficult. I would rather take this difficult class for units for P/NP instead of taking a seminar or something else for units. I think its quite advantageous preparation for the MCAT.

Let me rephrase the question, is it okay to have one or two difficult upper division Bio classes classes as P/NP, They are not required for the major, but often can be used to fulfill an elective if taken for a grade. They are in the bio department.

"All lower- and upper-division courses must be taken for a letter grade if they are to be used towards satisfaction of the major requirements." but I will not be using to satisfy the major but help me gain understanding in that field.
