Hey guys, so I just graduated from college a few weeks ago and am taking a year off before applying to focus on EC's, take a few classes to raise sGPA, take the MCAT, and get surgery on my hip. As a former D1 athlete, I am behind on EC's due to limited time during the academic year. As such, I am using this year to mainly touch things up and was wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction regarding what I should still consider doing before applying in a year.

Here is a summary of my EC's thus far:

Paid Clinical Research - produced abstract, poster, paper, and presentation (1 summer)
Clinical Research Volunteer - ~50 hrs
Hospital Volunteer - ER, PACU, nursing station, and front desk ~80 hrs
Volunteer English Teacher in Central America - ~50 hrs
Paid Science Research (Non-Medical) - produced abstract, poster, and presentation (1 summer)
Tutoring - SAT and math/science subjects, extensive paid experience
Shadowing - shadowed orthopedic surgeon for ~30 hrs
D1 Athlete for all 4 years
Financial Manager for legal consulting firm

That's pretty much it at this point. I do think I need some more clinical experience, any advice where to start? I also plan to do some more shadowing during the year as well. I remember reading a thread somewhere on the "average" hours of EC's most MD matriculants have. Does anyone know where I could find that? Thanks in advance.
