Hi everyone,

I'll be finishing my undergrad degree this year, and I'll probably apply MD/PhD next year. I was thinking about taking a graduate course in an institution I plan applying to. Is that possible? Do they ever let students not admitted in the program take graduate courses? If someone knows specifically about this in universities in New York (Cornell, Rockfeller, Columbia..etc), it'd be even more helpful.

It will help you if you do well on the course. For MD PhD applicants, however, it is more important to have done actual bench research. The policy to enroll in graduate courses depends on each institution.

Yup, I'm aware of research requirements. I do have decent research under my belt, but the thing is I'm interested in neuroscience and there are no neuro courses at my undergrad college (which happens to totally suck). That;s why I'm looking for a neuro course at some other institution, especially those in which I'll be applying to.
