Hi, I'm going into the last year of my psych degree(I'm in Canada btw)
and am minoring in biology. I'm just figuring out what courses I should take for the upcoming school year. I was thinking of taking human physiology (it's a 3rd year course if that matters). I've heard that it is a difficult course because it's a lot of information. Since my minor is pretty open with what courses I can take I wanted to ask if it would be worth it to take human physiology? I'm willing to work hard, but will be busy next year anyways (with my other classes and I have a lot of extracurriculars). I've spoken to my advisor too and he doesn't seem worried since I have already taken both semesters of biochem and cell bio.

I'm pretty sure that it's the course that I would find the most interesting, but I want to go to med school, so I need to think about my gpa. My friends have said that it's hard, but interesting. Also, the other problem is that the professor that usually teaches each section of the course retired, so we are getting a brand new professor. I'm just really worried about eventually regretting taking the course.

So yeah, I just want some thoughts on how you found your human physiology course. What did you like about it? What did you not like about it? What was your favourite part? What was the hardest part? And whether you would recommend someone else take it.

Do you really need three separate threads on human physiology?

Wow, three threads on the first page about human physiology...what's special about today?

I never took human physiology on the advice of an older friend in medical school. She said my institution's physiology course was unnecessarily work-heavy and that she didn't actually get enough out of it to "replace" or "effectively supplement" medical school material. She suggested that I take advantage of taking some other cool course in college and leave the medicine learning for medical school.

Though if you haven't taken the MCAT yet this course would be very useful in place of self-study.

Sorry, I'm kind of new to this, so I'm not sure if people would continue replying to the first thread.
The second thread is asking what is the hardest part of human physiology because I'm curious.

I loved Physiology...it was definitely in my top 5 classes. I think it really depends on the teacher, though. I had a great one. My favorite parts were the endocrine and nervous systems (I'm a neuroscience major). Least favorite was probably renal.
