For all you who have been to plenty of interviews, did you carry anything with you? Also, did you write anything down, or take notes such as interviewers names, students names, various other things you found out, or did you just wing it and try to remember everything? It seems like a lot of stuff to remember in a possible stressful situation, and maybe it is helpful to take notes.

I wouldn't bring much to an interview, they usually give you a folder jammed with notepads and pens and info.

Although, I do take notes on the presentation to bring up during my interview so they know I am intelligent.

I think having a pen and pad of paper is an excellent call. If you don't need it, no big deal, but what if you wished you had brought it and didn't have it! I wish I would have written down both of my interviewers' names!😳 I had to ask other students later. 🙄 When you're nervous it's harder to remember everything and these are very important people in your life right now. They may have some note-worthy things to tell you. That's my take on it.

It's true there was a folder given out with papers in it (Buffalo.). I had a small pad of paper that I stuck in the folder and my own pen, which was a good thing, as that was not provided.

Ohio state gives you a leather portfolio, with trinkets galore.

LUCKYYYYYYYYYYYY 😡

I brought a single leather portfolio so I could put all the literature they gave me into it while still having a notebook there to take notes. I would highly recommend writing down key points from presentations on financial aid/class life/etc. I probably wouldn't take down notes during the interview, since they should be doing that for you and it may appear cocky.

Also, I put my car key, a credit card, and some cash in the portfolio and left my purse and everything else in my car. I thought it looked a little unprofessional for girls to have pig purses that took away from their careful attire or guys to have an armful of stuff to carry around.

Reminds me of a time that my friend was at an interview and saw a girl wearing ugly monkey socks. The heck?

 The socks they make monkeys out of? Or socks with monkeys on them? (Just trying to get the mental image.)

Take notes but don't overdo it. Some people looks so superficial when they overdo it.

i take detailed notes b/c i need to keep all the info. about each school i interview at straight. i start to forget which school offers this or that, so i need to rely on my notes to help jog my memory about what i liked and didn't like about a school.

i bring a small briefcase along with a leather portfoliio. the breifcase holds money, make-up, small bottle of water, etc.
