Hi,

I am a dentist trained in India. I want to take my part1 for the first time in March-April 2010.

If any of you is planning to take the exam at a similar time..we can surely get together at this very thread and start off with things...discussions...suggestions...comments..planning out stuff etc...

i hav already begun with the decks...and planning to go by kaplan review...what say?

Hi everyone. I am also planning to take NBDE part 1 in april-may.
I would like your opinion if its the correct time or too early to appear and whether 4-5 months are enough for its preparation? I am an Intern and have just started with the preparations for NBDE.
 
i am also planning to appear in march so plz lets start and let me know how to start , i m new and taking exam first time ...
 
You guys should pair up and get a study partner. It is much easier and faster to study when you have someone to discuss the material with. 4-5 months is more than enough to study for the exam. Just make sure to not waste time for a year or something trying to get a good score. Good luck!
 
Im looking at giving the exam in april too....havent started preparing yet though....will start from jan and hope to pick up pace....dont want to give it too much time... doing the decks and question papers ....also hope to look thru first aid.🙂

Sorry amarbeer but I am done w/ the exam (THANK GOD!) and through the admissions process. =) It was just a suggestion since that's what I did.

I am also interested in taking the National Board Dental Examination (NBDE) part 1.
Where do i start? I dont know what books i have to follow. Your guidance will be appreciated.

i m planning to repeat NBDE1 in march.. can someone guide me if dental decks 2006-2007 are fine or should i go for decks 2009-2010. Is there any difference in newer ones..

its the correct time and sufficient for a good preparation.

2006-07 decks are fine mate... get on with your preps whole heartedly...
 
Hi all...to all those who have just started or are planning to start...

1. Prepare your minds well about the one and only chance for part1.
2. gather the books...i suggest dental decks, kaplan review notes, asda papers to start with...supplementations later..
3. start with decks, be thorough with them...and then try papers...
4. supplement with kaplan...
5. revise and re-revise...thats the key...
6. keep posting !!!!

So folks what is evryone studying as of now, by the year end since holiday season is around ? lets try motivating each other for all those who r takingn part 1 in the next 2-3 months.

Is there any online practice exam OR software available where one can practice simulated NBDE part 1 tests???
 
hey,the friend with whom i used to study jst gave the exam.m left to myself.anybody interested in studin wih me.it really helps.m givin exam around march end.m from delhi.........

I already have 82 in Part1 and I am planning to retake it. My question is If in new method it is just pass/fail what value will it bring to retake the exam? Confused ... Please help
 
It is not becoming pass/fail till 2012. Unless you want to wait for 2 years, in my opinion it brings ALOT of value.

hey cn any of u guys tell me whether according to the new 2010 guidelines cn we retake the exam after three months to upgrade our score.pple r tellin me u c retake only if u gt below 75.pllllzzzz help me out with the confusion.
 
I don't understand why people keep on asking the same repeated questions ?
Why don't you put some more effort in finding the answers ? When some body hears something from a friend or a source why don't they question from where they received the info and the link or website where they got to know the info from. Checking the ADA website gives out all the information.
For that matter there are so many threads regarding the same in this website. Any ways to answer your question.

From 2010 once the candidate passes the part 1 exam they cannot retake the exam unlike earlier to improve their scores. Hope this helps.
