Taking pills during test breaks

Hi there. I've seen various and sundry threads about illegal use of prescription medications: that's not what I'm talking about. However, I do have medication prescribed by my physician that I take on a daily basis and I may need to take it or some of my supplements during the MCAT depending on timing.

I don't have any need for accommodations, but I'm scared that if I take pills at my locker during the test, I'll be harrassed or accused of cheating/illicit drug use. Does anyone have an idea of how medication taking is handled? Haven't really found anything non-vague here or on the AAMC site.

I think that as long as you can show that the meds are prescribed to you, you shouldn't have a problem. If your testing center people are anything like mine were, they won't even notice/ask.

I did this and the proctors didn't seem to have a problem with it.

I was (and still am) 100% in every way shape and form addicted to caffeine.

It is a love/hate relationship I have and I do not see myself stopping any time soon (I have been caffinated every day since ~2005).

Anywho, I NEED the stuff to study and focus (yeah i know if i quit for a few months I prob wouldnt but lets not go there)...

Anyways back to this thread.

During the MCAT I brought in Nodoz caff pills. I had some in my pocket and munched them during the test and during test breaks. No problems, no worries, no harm.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I was told we'd have to empty our pockets completely...? But in any case, as long as I don't get interrogated for wandering to my locker during a break to take something, I'm happy. I have proof of prescription for my meds but I feel like being treated with suspicion would make me upset enough that I'd lose my nerve.
