Taking Pre-req at Community College

Does anyone know if DPT programs frown upon taking pre-requisites at a community college? I graduated from a 4-yr university with all my pre-requisites except for physics II and after 4 years at Boston University I am trying to save money and take a course at a CC. Will it make a difference?

Just be careful here. Sure, I have a bit of a chip on my shoulder given that I've taken all my pre-reqs at a CC and I'd like to think that I stand better than a good chance of getting into the (top-level) programs to which I'm applying. While some programs are explicit in their preference for four-year classes (OU comes to mind), I don't think CC classes (especially if they come from a reputable CC) hurt one's chances at all. As has been said ad nauseum, ultimately a discrepancy between grades and GRE scores would be the red flag that DPT programs need to ding an applicant. You follow up a 3.8+ in prereqs at a CC with a high GRE score (assuming your other application elements are in place) and you stand an excellent chance of getting into most top programs.

Unless the schools you are applying to explicitly forbid it or strongly discourages it, one class shouldn't hinder you. I actually took my anatomy online through a CC, finishing it just a few weeks before PT school started. No one seemed to give it pause. As long as you've shown the ability to succeed at a 4-year institution otherwise, you should be fine. A call to your top schools may further ease your worry.
