Taking pre-req's after graduating

I will graduate from UN Reno in December and still need to take biochem in the spring, but I wanted to move after graduating. Can I just enroll in a university and take only one class? I'm not looking to get a degree and only would like to pay for the credits, not a large tuition. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

I'm doing all my pre-reqs this way at my state university. I'm classified as a non-degree graduate student and pay by the credit hour. If you are moving out of state you may have issues getting instate tuition at a public school (some states require a certain amount of time in that state as a resident period, while others require that new residents seeking in state tuition did not move to the state primarily for educational purposes).

I think schools have very different policies on this but I do see a lot of post-bac pre-med/dents in my upper division science classes so I think it should be possible. I believe they usually only take 1 or 2 classes a semester... I'm at a private 4-year though....

I graduated from undergrad and grad school and took and re-took pre-req's. I recommend checking with the school you have chosen...some will allow you to enter as a non-degree student while other schools require you to fill out an application like any other high school graduate. I know it sounds stupid considering you only want to take one class and you are not going for a degree but Univ. of Texas (Austin) required me to fill out an application as if I were going for another degree when I just wanted to take two courses....crazy!

I graduted and did by pre-reqs at my local state university. What I did was I applied to the state university as a transfer student - so my 128 credits or whatever transfered over to the state school and basically gave me 5th year senior status and got first priority on registering for classes.
