Taking Step 2 before Rank, will programs see that you took it?

Will programs see/know that you took the Step II but are not releasing your score?

Or they don't know that you took it and holding your score?

I'm scheduled to take it in November and if I do worse than I did on the Step I, I obviously would not want to release it. However, would programs know that I took it in November and potentially ask me why I didn't release it come interview time?

Hey,

From experience, if you're uncomfortable with your Step 2 performance, don't click that "Submit to programs" button on the application. Go ahead and wait - presumably by that time you would have gotten a good number of your invites. If prgs ask you about your scores, you can either tell them you're waiting for it or you're scheduled to take the exam, yadda yadda. They dont know you've taken it unless you say Submit to prgs. Remember the score doesn't come back til 6 weeks anyway so it would presumably only affect the interviews you get after December.
