Taking Step 2 CK Very Late

Hi all,

I am currently set to take step 2 CK on October 31st, long after applications have opened. I got a 254 on step 1 and plan on applying to anesthesia.

I've been looking at programs that I want to apply to and it looks like about 50% of the programs "require" step 2 CK to be considered for an interview. In your guy's experience, is this a hard and fast rule with this programs or will they still interview you if you have a solid application without step 2 CK on board?

If I have to, I can reschedule for Sep 30th but would rather not. Let me know your thoughts.

Regardless of what programs put on their website, most applicants have both test scores in once applications roll around. You’re better off just taking it and getting it out of the way.
