What would you guys say about talking Step 3 without any IM floor months?

So the first and last third of my TY are pretty chill, with the middle third being the intense part (floors and ICU). I was initially thinking about taking Step 3 towards the end after I had my floor months, but have been pondering the idea of getting it over with early on. I have the feeling my motivation will be low and my anticipation/preparation for moving will be high by the time spring rolls around.

Would it be legit to take Step 3 after say EM, IM (outpt), and 2 other lower yield electives? I do plan on putting in some effort and studying to make up for the lack of actual experience.

My Step 2 was 252. I took Step 3 in August of intern year. I studied for 2 weeks, 50% of UWorld and all the cases. I got a 230. Personally, I think its better to do it earlier, since you will be more distant from every-other-specialty-not-yours at the end of your first year.
