I'm starting mcat prep now. But I do work full time. I read AAMC website that beginning in 2007, computerized ones will start where you can take it 3x out of 22 offerings. So does this mean that I can still make it for app year 07 to quite a few of the DO schools? I am not sure if they will offer the mcat before April 07 but if they do than I can squeeze MCAT test #2 in just to hedge my score. it's a little late starting now but I have started and finished organic, g chem, bio, way back in december, but not at full speed. Getting kind of antsy now.

I was in school full time and working full time when I took my MCAT, so I was in the same situation. If you are dead set on taking the MCAT this August then there is a GREAT series of prep CDs. I was SO busy that I would just listen to the lectures on the bus, in the car, getting ready for bed, and walking to classes. This was a GREAT alternative to reading books. You can buy the books (I would suggest it) but they give you EVERYTHING straight up and honest. The series is AUDIO OSMOSIS by EXAMKRACKERS. Loved it and they are hilarous on the CDs. Just a suggestion from a crazy busy woman. 👍

P.S. It is not TOO late to start studying. If you did well in your science coursework, then studying for the MCAT is just review. Plus, you got through the hardest part, organic 😱

In theory, yes, you can take the January test and apply for DO schools. However, be aware that you're late in the application process. Also, since the computerized test is going to be relatively new, you don't know how you might perform on the new format of the test. This is all assuming that they aren't changing the nature of the questions since they are reducing the length of the test.

You can also try Half.com or discount online bookstores. I got mine on Half.com for cheap because the person decided not to take the MCATs. Good luck. They are a GREAT investment
