Taking the DAT after acceptance

I dont know if this has happened to anyone else but my cousin was accepted to UOP and they told him to re-take the DAT before enrolling. I guess they just wanted to boost their numbers for incoming students. Has this happened to anyone else?

Does his acceptance letter state that he HAS to have higher numbers before they enroll him? This maybe one of the conditions of his acceptance (along with passing all his classes with a certain GPA).

I think they just asked him to do it. Im not sure if acceptance was conditional on it or not. He said that he did not have to get any certain score. They just wanted him to study for it and try to do better but he was getting in regardless. It all seemed strange to me

wow that's really weird. Did they say specifically which section they wanted him to improve on? was your cousin in their undergrad accelerated program?

I think his AA was a little low and his GPA was high. I think they wanted to keep up their reputation of having high DAT scores.

They just wanted him to study for it and try to do better but he was getting in regardless.

So, if I was told the same thing, I would not retake it. This doesn't make sense. If he was accepted, why would he retake it if it did not really matter 😕
