Hi everyone! I'm currently a sophmore waiting to apply for the 2007 cycle and after this year I will have finished gchem, bio and orgo. I'm considering taking the DAT this summer (most likely in August) and I'll be studying for it once classes end (well, maybe two weeks after classes end 🙄 ). I figured that since there is no physics on the DAT then I should probably take it this summer since bio and especially orgo will be fresh on my mind and I'll have time to retake it in 2007 if neccessary. Do you guys think that I would be taking the DAT too early if I took it this summer or should I just study study study and wait to take it the spring of 2007?

Also, I've been reading the forums religiously for the past month and it seems like the most recommended prep for each section are...

gchem/orgo - Kaplans (and any edition is fine cause they're all the same correct?)
bio- topscore
pat- ????

Thanks in advance guys!! :luck:

Why bother. Enjoy last open free summer is what I say.

I think you should do it.

Classes are fresh in your mind, you can study all summer, lets you know where you stand on the DAT and allows you to apply early with your DAT score. Also if you do really well, you might be able to apply next year to dental school without a degree.

na, take summer off and get some nookie and lay up drunk.

you dont need this DAT junk man.

Live a little before real life kicks your ass.

With the classes fresh in your mind, I can see no better time to take the DAT. I will be in the exact situation and will be taking the DAT in May of 2006 for a hopeful 2007 entry. I will be applying before tking the DAT, so my scores will be the only information pending. I will take Physics after the DAT is all said and done.

Best of luck! 👍
