what do you chaps say?

Well, let me venture to say that you probably won't get a 30, if that's your goal (it should be). But hey, if you're willing to put in the hours to study the materials that prsndwg listed, who knows? Personally, if I hadn't taken the latter half of ochem, I would've had to study a lot more than I did.

doc toothache,

ive read elsewhere that as long as you know the rules solid from ochem 1, and then review some of the critical concepts from ochem 2 that you can get as high a score as if youve had both classes. Thats what Im trying to get your opinion on.

Due to my timetable, if i wait to take org 2 i have to wait till next cycle to apply.

I object. Take OChem 2 first and then take the DAT. You'll be scratching your head a lot on the first section...and that might ruin/break your confidence. Take the test when you're fully equipped and able to handle it.

It's ok to wait until next cycle, because you want to do it the right way from the start.

Due to timetable you may end up retaking the DAT and reapplying.

Out of all the things to do I would say horrible idea. Some people may disagree but in all reality, you need Orgo 2 as a pre-req for every school so why make yourself crazy with studying orgo 2 and teaching yourself things you've never seen before, without taking the class. I think taking the class and actually studying for a semester will make studying for the exam feel like a piece of cake.

Take Orgo 2 before you take the exam!!! There's nothing wrong with a re-take but from personal experience I can tell you it sucks to have to study twice!

I guess I have a different opinion than everyone else, But I say go for it. The main focus is on Orgo 1 with about 5% from orgo 2. If you study the particular subjects from orgo 2 that are covered on the DAT, I imagine you'll be just fine.

I understand your situation. Give it a go without Orgo 2 and apply this cycle if your happy with your scores. If you not wait till next year, retake the test in the meantime, and your only out $200 dollars.
