I'm signed up for two earth science classes next semester and both are 2 units. I'm also signed up for Biochem (4 units) and 2 psych classes (6 units combined). 14 units total but only 1 hardcore science class. My GPA is okay (3.6/3.7) and I've averaged 14-15 units a semester. I'm also gonna be preparing for the MCAT next semester and applying in the next cycle.

Does it look bad that I'm taking 2 low unit Earth Science classes (which are known to be easy)?

Will adcoms care that 10 out of 14 of my units will be Earth Science and Psych?

(I'd appreciate responses from adcoms like LizzyM/catalyst/etc, medical students, or people in the middle of the application process)

Thanks guys

Quite frankly, no one is likely to notice.

That statement couldn't be more true. I took a majority of my credits pass / fail (and by majority I mean over 75%) my last semester, and no one has said a word.

You'll be fine, even if someone microanalyzes your transcript, considering you're taking Biochem. I'd bet the psych courses won't necessarily be a cakewalk either, since that's your major.

It's incredibly unlikely that someone will microanalyze you transcript.

I had several semesters (6 or 7) without a science course period, much less a "hardcore" science class and they let me in with my Economics degree (no science courses this semester either. I am fairly sure it's more important to do what you do well than to take uber-hard courses for the sake of not looking weak.
