TAMU VS. UTMB VS. Long

I will be ranking the above schools (in addition to Foster and Tech). It is pretty much just a matter of which location I want to live in? Are there any exceptional things about either school that is worth considering? Are the match lists about the same?

Currently trying to figure out how to rank TAMU vs Long. I am fortunate enough to have a pre-match offer from TAMU and for a lot of sentimental reasons, would really like to go there. I'm also from Dallas so having the opportunity to be close to family for 3/4 years is very appealing to me. I've heard that any school in Texas will get you where you want to go if you're willing to put in the work, but I was very impressed with Long's interview day. It seemed like a super friendly environment, loved the clinical integration within the curriculum, and it probably doesn't matter much... but I also was impressed that practically all the professors are practicing MD's.

Long definitely has some impressive things, but A&M is very friendly and offers a high quality education too. I think it's important to go where you have social support as well. In your position, A&M would definitely be above Long. Conversely, for me, I'm really close to Long and my husband will be unable to move, so Long gets ranked above McGovern, even though I adored that school too. Good luck in your decision making!
