#4 in the 25 review questions for momentum

I know that Choice A is Squareroot X, Choice B is linear, C is 1/X^-power , D is X^2

How do i derive the relationship using the equation for this question?

I know that it is m1v1 = (m1 + m2) v2, however I dont understand how the bullet mass (m1) and the final speed (v2) are related like graph A?!?!
