I have attached a scan of the question. I did the right hand rule and kept getting A. But that's wrong. I'm assuming there is another approach?

don't need right hand rule for this. Right hand rule predicts the direction of the force on a charged particle in a magnetic field, the direction of the magnetic field produced by a current carying wire, or the force on a current carrying wire in a magnetic field. MVP is right about the above.
