Can someone explain the answer? I had it down to either C or D, but I don't get the sentence that starts with "The static friction increases with the angle..." because then it says if C were true... max friction force doesn't occur right as object breaks free.
 
I had an issue with this question tooo. But if you look at the last paragraph of the passage it actually gives you the answer. " It should be noted that the static friction increases as an external force is applied until it reaches a threshold values, at which time the friction is said to become kinetic." So the graph so emulate that statement. It should increase to some value "threshold value" then stop (since the object is going to slide down).



This question really made me angry though 🙂
 
OHHHH! So tricky! It's kind of like how PE becomes KE and then they're 2 different things so it wouldn't be on the same graph. I get it. Wow tbr.
 
yeaa! It decreases once it starts moving(which is so obvious) intuitively but idk why I got confused too lol
