In calibrating a flow meter, an engineer measures the total pressure drop across a pipe as a function of the has flow velocity. Which of the following plots best details his results?

I have attached the document which contains the same question and the choices.

I know that the velocity v is directly proportional to the pressure difference. That eliminates C & D.

But I cannot understand why
B is the answer.

So velocity is DIRECTLY proportional to pressure difference??

Think about what happens if dP is negative. Should gas be flowing? Check out that y-axis and then you should get it.
