Teaching certificate?

Anyone know how a practicing pharmacist can get a teaching certificate? A professor job came open that looked interesting to me, but it requires a teaching certificate and I don't have one. I know I can't get the certificate in time for this job to start, but if the same institution has an opening in the future I'd like to be prepared.

I know some residencies offer it. I would look at the school of pharmacy in your area and see if they can help you out. At least point you in the right direction.

+1. I had this option during residency offered by the local COP.

Thanks, guys. If I'd had the option of getting a teaching certificate as a resident, I would have taken it; unfortunately, it wasn't available.

You might contact one of the institutions which sponsors the teaching certificate. 3 of the residency programs I applied to had one. (One of the reasons why I applied there.) UAMS, StLouis COP, and USC are the sponsors for their respective residencies. Not sure who awards the certificate for the one at Vanderbilt. I would think Belmont or ETSU, but not really sure.
