Tech Hours at your Store

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
lol, but if you include the tech hours in the cGMP PET (while not "practice of pharmacy") side of CH your hour count would double.

True! However, albeit "technicians", they are not registered as such with our state's BOP. So even if I wanted them to cross the door's threshold and draw up a dose in the pharmacy, they wouldn't be permitted to do so. 😛 That and they're not part of my cost center...so hit a totally separate labor budget. 😉

Lol, just got done answering someone question about this in your "day in the life thread." You could always have your PET techs get pharmacy tech licensees so they can draw doses. Although they would probably throw a fit about it. We had one cross-trained/licensed at the CH site I interned at.

Always interesting to see different approaches according to the region. My colleagues always say the same thing when we compare. 🙂 Our location typically likes to keep a clear line in the sand between the two. With that being said...their staff is pulling crazy hours with manufacturing alone. We will be dispensing 6 different PET products on Thursday.

Sounds busy! PET teams are always busy and understaffed it seems. Its hard to find people who are qualified and ok to working off hours.

Independent Pharmacy:
2000Rx's/Week
116 Tech hours
40 Cashier Hours

In the store that I work at, we roughly do 4500 scripts or so and our tech hours is 293-300 hours.
