does anyone here do telemdicine? It’s not very lucrative but may be a good way to beef up my home office hours. American well only uses board certified people so I can’t do that for over a year. I tried healthtap but there were too many other annoying things they wanted me to do. Any input?

Looked into this too, ultimately had trouble figuring out which company would be reasonable to try
My IM boarded friend does teledoc and amwell. It’s something like $20-25 per patient for phone only and $30 if video is used. Each call usually lasts 5-10 minutes including the limited charting required. Last winter he said the volume was nonstop and could get a call every minute. Nowadays volume is hit or miss. I plan to sign up for this coming winter.
Most of the popular ones require board certification.
What kinds of patients is a telemedicine emergency physician seeing, especially through a phone call without physical exam? What kind of liability are you taking on through one of these jobs?

Liability is yet undetermined due to its newness. I'm not aware of any litigation yet.
Issues come with licensure. You need to be licensed in the state where the patient is and not just where you are operating from. The interstate license compact (whatever the technical term) was designed for this (which I just found out about).
I am still unclear as to what exactly an Emergency Physician does in a telemedicine situation. I see advertisements from time to time promoting workman's compensation evaluations, but how do I evaluate a patient over the phone? Also, I imagine there some kind of liability and diagnosing a patient through voice or video only to have that diagnosis turn out incorrect.
