"Tell me about yourself" question on interviews

Hey SDNers any thoughts as to how we should be answering this question during interviews..I am sure this will be the first question many interviewers will be asking, and probably sets the tone for the rest of the interview...

How would you answer this question? Would you talk about personal stories and then lead it to dentistry at the end?? talk about academics or hobbies?? interesting facts about yourself? I am sure they are not expecting a long answer, so I am not sure what to talk about....

i would approach this question with the understanding they've already familiarized themselves with your app and file.

to that end i would stay away from "interest in dentistry" because of course you are. that's the reason you're there. i'd also not go too deep into things that have already been fleshed out in your file.

keep it legit and professional and give them a rundown of things you didn't put on the record.

so the lesson here is obviously make the most potent and positive app you can, but also have an ace up your sleeve to talk about that wasn't included on paper.

This was the ONLY part of my entire interview that I worry about because it's such a broad question that I stuttered a little bit.
