Hello

I just wanted to confirm the following:

Say I'm given a pic of a diasaccharide

In this case, I'd only look at the first sugar (ie. One of the *LEFT*) and determine if it's OH (which is now bonded to sugar on right) is cis or trans to subsituient on C5. C5 substiutent is UP, OH on C1 is down, - > trans--> hence the linkage is 1, 4 alpha?

Please kindly confirm this and also see my previous recent post on how to tell if it's alpha or beta

Thanks.
