Telling Schools Your Status At Other Schools

If schools should ask about your status at other schools, would/could that in any way be used to influence their own decision? Meaning, if they know you've been rejected from X number of schools, could that leave an unfavorable opinion in their minds? Maybe this question is stupid haha, but I figure they are asking for SOME reason, right?

To further elaborate, he was saying if other schools can make their decision without other consideration (other schools.)

To answer your question, I don't think so. All school have different circumstances of who gets accepted and rejected.

Not really because I wrote the post.

I just thought that since some schools ask, there might be a reason for it. Maybe something that would get brought up at a later time when a decision is being made. That's all I was asking.

I was asked this too and wondered how my response would be taken on their end

If you were accepted at a school that was low cost, first off why bother going to a more expensive school interview unless you really, really, really , really, wanted to go there, or it was paid for and you wanted to take a vacation. As such, one COULD play the card of, well Im already accepted at a school with lower total cost, so whatcha got for me to make me come here? Scholarship to offset the cost?...

Or you could lie and say your accepted at 70 schools already....

But they'll all find out whats up in March/April (correct me if I'm wrong) what happened and where one has made deposits...

Just a few of may plays one could make.

Thanks for the input. I haven't been accepted anywhere yet, but I do have two interviews coming up which is why I ask. I know one of them asks these kinds of questions.
