Is anyone using temp staffing agency to fill in for a sick assistant? Is it a good idea? Any bad experience with getting the assistant on time, assistant availability, using multiple staffing agencies, cost to the agencies and the temp assistant? Thank you.

Are you an employer or a jobseeker? Temporary staffing agencies are a great choice for small businesses as they decrease recruiting efforts on your part (regarding recruitment). For jobseekers, they are opportunities to get a job. Temporary jobs can sometimes turn full-time, so it is a good option. So far, my experience has been quite good with staffing companies. The one that I signed up with for our hospital is CareerStaff MSP.
