I had a quick question about my iternary for my Temple interview coming up on Friday. It says something about taking 15 minutes for a "written essay".

Can anyone give me an idea as to what this is and why they do it?

Thanks! 😀

To eliminate someone with bad grammar and English, such as ... myself .... 😀 😀 😀 😀

Yup, They give you 15 minutes to write the essay. My friend had to do it last year. She said it wasn't that bad. They still conduct group interviews right?

yah its still a group interview....

about the essay...just a normal essay like "name a time when you had to overcome hardship" or "who is your biggest influence".....like the previous guy said, its more of an on-the-spot way of testing your grammar/spelling......cause AADSAS essays can easily be plagarized...

I think Buffalo has it also... but can someone else elaborate more on the written essay at Temple?

I had my Temple interview recently. There was NO written essay for us!! I was prepared for an essay too. But the whole day turned out to be a tour, lunch, group interview, financial/security/housing issues, and that's it. We had total 13 people. One group had 3, the other two groups had 5 people each. I was in one of the 5-people group. One faculty member asked us about 3 questions. Everybody took turn to answer. Then the last 20 mins was for us to ask her questions. It was very relaxed, nobody was stressed. It's pretty informal. And I personally don't think it matters if your answer is similar to others. And in fact, nobody cares. There're only few possible reasons to go to dentistry. We're here because we have common interests, so don't squeeze your brain try to find something that's so "different" from others.

Good luck to you all having Temple interivews. 😀

how does temple expect to learn anything of real value about an individual from a group interview?

their stock keeps sinking lower and lower in my book... 😴

They don't ask too many questions and they go around the table so you're lucky if you are the first one to reply because other candidates are probably going to have the same answer.
