Temple - Anyone NOT heard anything?

I emailed the chair today to get a status on my app and all he could tell me i that they have all of my materials and are still interviewing students. i havent heard a thing aside from that.

has anyone else not heard anything?

I haven't heard anything, I also never really figured out their online status thingie either... But at this point, I've been accepted to schools I'd rather go to, so I don't really care anymore...

Keep up hope. Yes, they are still interviewing: I think they have a few more groups to go. If you haven't heard anything negative yet, it means you're still in the running! 🙂

kyra...are you sure thats true? i was under the impression they just reject everyone at the end once they've interviewed enough qualified candidates?

Some people have already been rejected by Temple, if you review the posts. So I think no news is a reason to keep up hope at least for a while longer! 🙂 I think they do their last interview in March, so there is still time.

thanks! yeah any info you could provide would be great. i am definitely interested in temple so hopefully it will work out.

has anyone interviewed and been rejected or waitlisted? i'm assuming if i get interviewed i should have a decent shot of getting in, especially if its more of a meet and greet, not a drilling session.

The Temple interview was pretty relaxed - but not too much so. They broke us into smaller groups to do the interview. In my group Dr. Carp and two students took turns asking candidates different questions. They were pretty much "text book" interview questions but some were a little tough to answer on the spot. I would come up with a few examples that you could use when asked to show how you handle difficult situations, embody different traits and skills, etc.

They say that the interview counts for only 5% of the decision and that if you are offered an interview you have made it passed the other 95% of the process. I think they said something like a 90% chance of acceptance. I do know someone who was not accepted following an interview this Fall but I don't know the details.

did the people from temple tell you that about those percentages? bc i interviewed at drexel, and honestly i thought i did pretty well in it (the interviewer told me she would recommend me highly for admission), but i was waitlisted...and its simply bc of my GRE's.

They mentioned those percentages at the interview and when I spoke to Dr. Carp earlier in the process he said about the same thing. I take it all with a grain of salt but an interview is a very good sign!

Per their website -
March: All applicants are notified by mail of a decision.

Email the administrator regarding the status of your application, if you have any questions. They start taking applications the July before the program starts and they accept on a rolling basis. They probably get 1200+ applicants for 50-60 spots. Check out their website for more information: they provide a useful time line for applicants. Good luck.

I interviewed on November 6th and found out on November 16th I got in. However, according to Dr. Carp the last interview is not until this Friday (March 5th) so I believe they are kind of waiting it out to accept the last batch of people until everyone had interviewed. I know they are expecting to have the class full by Mid-March. Hope that helps!
