Hi Guys & Gals!
I've recently made my decision to attend Temple in the fall of 2012. My fiancee and I have been looking at apartments in the Roxborough/Manayunk area and we would like to only have 1 car while we're there. I think Philadelphia has a pretty decent transit system but I'm wondering if anyone has first hand knowledge? Particularly from the Roxborough/Manayunk area to school(Safety, Ease, Time.. etc) Thanks in advance for any input!!

If you are looking to live in the Manayunk area. You will need a car to get to school or carpool w/ a fellow classmate. Public transport isn't very helpful in getting around the city out in the 'burbs of Manayunk.

Thanks for the input!

Hey, I live in the suburbs of Philly. Their transit system runs pretty well, or at least it has every time I have used it. The only downside is that when the weather is bad (such as heavy snow), the trains and buses can run extremely late, but this goes for all transportation. Also, if your looking to live IN Manayunk, its pretty expensive. I agree with soulpower. Although Manayunk is not far from Broad street at all, I have never seen public transportation in that area, which is pretty weird. You can pull up the SEPTA schedule and check though, I am pretty sure they changed their routes a few years ago.

Why do you want to live in manyunk? Is it because the school implanted the idea in your mind?

You can get a great, convenient 1 bedroom in the city for as much as roxx/man. It nicer, has a subway, convenient, and fun. Don't limit your option to just the burbs.
