Hello!

I am currently applying to temple DPT and was wondering if anyone knows what their acceptance rate is for in-state students, and if anyone has heard a decision from them.

more technical question: my application still says that it is incomplete on the Temple site even though I sent them all materials, and I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem.

Thanks!

If you go to PTCAS website, they have that information for you as far as acceptance rates.
If Temple's site says that your app is incomplete, I'd suggest calling them to find out specifically what they need from you.

Thank you for your reply! On ptcas it says that the acceptance is 60 percent in-state. Does that mean that 60% of in-state applicants are accepted, or that 60% of the class is in-state?

Has anyone here heard anything from temple yet?

It means that 60% of their cohort class is in-state... and 40% accepted are out-of-state. However, you'll have to look at their anticipated class size for next year in order to get a broad picture of how many students they actually will accept. So a class of 35 students means that 14 out of that 35 are usually out-of-state, and you can figure the rest....

Temple also has a supplemental application and fee through the Temple website. It's really simple, I think all of their graduate applicants have to fill it out. If that's not what is incomplete I would give them a call or e-mail. They were very helpful. I just heard from them today! (I applied really early!)

Thank you so much for your response! Did you get an interview today? Do you mind sharing when you submitted the application/what are your stats?

Hello,

I also applied early, my PTCAS was mailed August 26th. I just heard back from Temple after my initial interview on October 3rd. I was accepted and I am going to put a deposit down, but I am still waiting to hear from some other schools I have interviewed with.
Anyone else get accepted?

I submitted my application at the end of August. I interviewed in October, and found out I was accepted!
I'm a post-bac student so my stats are a little wonky:
cumulative GPA: 3.56
post bac GPA: 3.72
pre rec GPA: 3.8
GRE: Q:154 V:162 W:4

It sounds like Temple bases their acceptance about 70% based on merit and 30% based on personal qualities. Good Luck!

I was as well, we were probably at the same interview. I am also waiting to hear back from a few schools but was really impressed with their program!

I bet we were at the same interview! I sat next to a dance major in the back row, I believe named Rebecca, but I remember the other dance major there who was sitting in the back left of the room, wearing a great suit shirt. Any chance you're either of them?

Also, I think im going to put down a deposit because it is so time sensitive. I am also waiting to hear from Drexel and LIU who both have great merit scholarships available, which may be my deciding factor. In addition I have an interview planned at UMaryland in Baltimore, which I may or may not attend. Did you interview at any of their programs too?

That was me! (Rebecca) I thought you looked familiar. The other dance person was accepted as well. Also waiting to hear back from Drexel. The other schools I applied to either are not rolling admission or haven't sent out supplementals. Temple is probably my top choice by like wise I will need to look at the big picture regarding tuition - scholarships etc. I'll check out the temple 2018 board!

Do you guys mind sharing what the interview was like? What sort of questions did they ask?

Thanks!

Temple uses group interviews and there interviews are behavioral, meaning they might ask you what what you would in a hypothetical situation. They also asked us why we want to be a PT, and to talk about a time we failed. Everyone was incredibly nice!
