Temple? Pacific? UNLV? Case?

They all seem like good schools. UOP is good also because I've heard that it's a 3 year school and it's one of the top dental schools in the nation. If you don't mind, I'd like to ask you a question. I am going to be interviewed at Temple soom and I don't know what to expect. I went to the interview feedback section of SDN and there is pretty much no feedback for Temple. Can you please give me an overview of what the interview experience was like? How many people were you interviewed by? Were the questions straight forward? Was the writing portion on a general topic or a clinical topic? Was the overall atmosphere relaxed? Also, in the e-mail it says "video statement," what is that?

Are you a resident of any of those states? Does location matter? There probably also is a considerable difference in cost as well.
UNLV has nice facilities, Pacific is in a great location and 3 year education--means an extra year of earning potential. I believe Case has a PBL style education (which may or may not be for you), but Cleveland is debateable. Temple has subpar facilities, good clinical education, in a rough area of Philadelphia

I actually like the location of Temple's school/clinic because it's obviously in a community that needs help and there are plenty of patients. It's not like you have to live next door to the school. You just have to have a good sense of judgment and not stay in school until 3AM, or if you do, walk with someone from security. I really enjoyed the feeling I got from current students and they all seemed really happy.
@dentalstudentt - enjoy the interview. Brian and Jeremy are awesome and will make you feel comfortable right from the beginning. You're not interviewed by anyone - seriously, you just talk into a video camera for a few minutes.

Feathers, thanks for the advice. So it's just a writing portion and then a video statement? One more question, is everyone around you while you do the video statement? Just asking.
Yup! That's it. No, no one is around you when you do the video statement. There is only one girl who works in the office in the room with you to control the camera. Everyone else is working on their essays, which is a general topic. Good luck to you!
Temple is updating all of their facilities, and will be real nice in a couple of years.
My advice is to go to the cheapest (unless you have a military or NHSC scholarship)....

I hope it isn't too late to help ya out. Temple interview day was very laid back, so just be yourself. Most of the day was spent touring the school and just interacting with the other students being interviewed. The video is just your chance to express yourself. I told 2-3 stories that explained why I would be a good dentist. My stuff barely lasted 3 min. They said the video was mostly to just see that we know how to communicate our ideas. The video statement is the "interview." Basically, you just sit in a room and talk to the camera explaining why they should pick you. It is not as bad as it sounds.
