has anyone had to fill out the form that temple sends before the interview???for those of you who know what I am talking about, they ask at the end of the form about the Haiti mission and whether I would like to participate in something like that. Honestly, it sounds like a really interesting experience (going to the tropics and helping underserved patients)...has anyone actually done it or heard of anyone who has done it and have some thoughts to share? Also, I went over the agenda and it says that there is a written essay after the introduction, is that for real??? I don't like writing so much and it usually takes me time to come up with anything to write about, what is the essay about? Have fun this weekend (Halloween time baby)

Writing the essay is real and I heard it would be emphasized on. Be sure to complete your pre-interview form before you show up. The first thing they will collect you is this form. It actually has some criteria to meet before you can be selected to participate in Haiti program. I don't know what criteria it is, but you can ask there. Be prepared to see "tons" of patients in Temple and that is their strongest part. Solid training, especially on clinic.

At the interview they said the essay wasn't that important. The essay questions are super easy, nothing to worry about or prepare for.

i didn't understand my first essay question... neither did the person sitting next to me... good thing they let us switch...
i wrote a crappy essay...since 1/2 my time was taken up by trying to figure out what the heck they wanted for the 1st question... i still got in...so i'm sure there's not much emphasis on it.
