Hi,

I'm a 25 year old Editor in Manhattan, looking to switch over to Medicine. Honestly, I'm concerned about my age and want to get into med school as quickly as possible. I was wondering if there are any programs similar to the Temple Program, where you get in and are then guaranteed admission to that med school the following year? This seems to be the best path to getting things done quickly - has anyone had any positive / negative experiences with this?

Also - I would love it if someone could recommend some good places in Manhattan to volunteer and get experience. I worked at NIH in high school and I have worked a bit at a hospital in DC, but I am sure some more recent experience would be really helpful.

Thanks!

absa-freakin-loutely do a program with a direct linkage. Linkage is the way to go... I would have applied to Temple ACMS but it didn't work out for a number of reasons.

I think Rosalind Franklin also has a linkage program. A few other schools out there might as well. Check out DrMidlife's SMP list

I've heard of these "direct linkage" programs before. Can someone give me some specific details and/or links to some of these programs' websites?
