Hey guys, I couldn't find Temple & UMDNJ's recommendation letter requirements from their websites...anyone know how many from science, non-science, dentist letters they each requires?

Thanks a lot.

ALSO

What's better: asking LOR from my microbiology professor that i've known for only one semester, but worked very closely with and did very well in his class?

OR

asking LOR from non-science pscyhology professor who's known me for 3 years on and off not that closely, and took 3 of her courses?

Don't know exact requirements, but I got into Temple and had 2 recs from bio professors, one dentist and my supervisor at work.

On your second question, I would definitely go with the science professor you worked with closely. One of my recs was from a prof that I only had for one quarter, but I was very active in the class and got along well with him. Any rec from a science prof, especially bio or chem, is going to look better than a non-science prof, IMO.

Hope that helps. Coincidentally, I applied to NJ as well, but didn't even get an interview, but they didn't elaborate as to why.

I'm not sure of the schools exact requirements either but I got accepted to both Temple and UMDNJ this cycle.

I had a letter from a math prof. (I'm a math major), gen chem prof., o chem prof., my boss at work, and the dentist I worked with. I think my prehealth adviser also put a cover letter on there.

I would also go with your microbiology professor. It's a science course and it sounds as though they'd know you better.

Good luck!

as a rule of thumb always have 2 LORs from science professors (biology, gen chem, ochem, and maybe even physics?), 1 from a dentist, and 1 can be from anything else (volunteer, work, another dentist, nonscience professor, another science professor, etc) because AADSAS can hold up to 4 LORs.....

I applied for the 2008 cycle to both Temple and UMDNJ with 2 science prof. letters and 1 former employer letter.

But I would call their admissions office just to be safe! Loma Linda didn't have certain admission requirements online when I applied, and I had to abandon my application later on after I had paid my AADSAS fee 😡 Bullhonkey!
