Temple vs Jefferson

I interviewed at Jefferson and loved it and have an upcoming Temple interview and am considering cancelling it. Do you think its worth taking a look at Temple? Is it considered a better school or are there other advantages over Jefferson?

same match rates totally different feels and patient populations.

I think it depends what you are looking for. I agree with the above, they both do very well in fellowhip match. But having spent time at both, it is my opinion that Temple by far offers better training. Their residents have much more autonomy, and take care of overall sicker patients. While Jefferson is downtown and a beautiful facility, it is a bit more of a private hospital with a University name.

I would personally rather train somewhere where I saw and did everything. Thus, I would lean toward keeping the Temple interview just to talk to the resdients, and see what they have to offer.

site the actual match rates. questionable claims. they are both middle of the road programs. match numbers are not hidden by either program. check the websites. neither of these places is penn but will get you where u need to go. you're splitting hairs trying to say one is "way" better. i'm very familiar with both places.

Interviewed at both places and similar hospitals in that tier (er, rather hospitals of this tier and below)....will have to agree that you can't really compare them. Both of them are strong training programs in their own regard, with fellowship matching at very similar places.

Temple: more disadvantaged patients leading to sicker patients and interesting pathology. Lots of autonomy and procedures. The residents seemed to have really strong camaraderie with each other. Good academic physicians as well. PD seemed really nice and willing to go that extra mile for the residents.

Jefferson: CEO's to disadvantaged patients. Pretty big program with lots of great things going on, but then again, there's a lot of things going on (could be overwhelming it seems). PD seems very nice here as well.

I agree with this. I also interviewed at both and they had totally different feels. The residents at Temple seemed really nice. I'd keep the Temple interview.
