Temple vs Uconn

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Any other information? Family? Cost difference? State residency status? Specialty of choice?

At face value, they seem very similar in terms of research, and neither has a particular "prestige" factor.

However, if you are not a Connecticut resident, I definitely would not pay $75k/year unless it was my only option. On the other hand, if you are IS at UConn, I might choose that option to save yourself the extra $20k/year. I would simply choose the cheaper option between the two.

Curriculum doesn’t matter As medical school is largely self study from standardized resources across the country. Location and clinical experience in philly at temple are huge assets imo. I would choose temple due to their clinical strengths.

I would go to UConn especially if you are in-state. I think in terms of opportunities available to you, they would be mostly the same at both schools. UConn matches students into all the competitive residency programs, . Unless you really want to live in a city, you should go to UConn if you are in-state.

According to the poll, it says OP is IS in PA, in which case I would say Temple. Save yourself $80k before interest.

The family is near Temple. The final cost of both of them will be around the same in the end. I'm from PA. If I decide Uconn, I would become IS by my second year. Specialty rn is Emergency Medicine, but I need more exposure to other fields.
