temple:
pros
- close to home ~40ish minutes
- excellent research opportunities
- level 1 trauma center with diverse clinical exposure
- ranked higher
- home hospital
- optional attendance
- cheaper
cons
- not the safest area
- would probably live in manayunk and commute

usc greenville:
pros
- area is nicer/weather
- close to where i went to college
- could walk to class
- nice facilities and fun community activities
cons
- more expensive
- required lecture attendance
- newer school
- more primary care focused, whereas i want to do acute care

i also got into drexel, geisinger, and usc columbia (and waitlisted at pitt)

Yes,, like I know obviously temple is in a better area for EM exposure but I didn’t know if anyone had any insight as to how impactful that truly is

You've given almost no context into the factors that matter to you and if there is any financial difference. EM is not a very competitive specialty so either school will help you match. If you think temple would offer more opportunities in EM then that's as good a reason as any to go there assuming all else equal.

i edited my original post- is that helpful? i was just looking to see if anyone had some insight for their EM exposure, research, etc. but i get that you need more info. tyia!

It helps a little. You should ask the EM community. I think it matters what case loads you see as I anticipate the ER in Greenville may have different cases than the ER at Philadelphia. You need the patient experience and the support/mentoring to get you through a residency. You need to ask about the support/mentoring.
