More prestige comes with getting an MD, I think, and Temple really does have a good reputation for offering clinical experience, or so I've heard. I believe that the SOM is more suburban and you don't get the same experience as you do when you're in North Philly. The Temple campus may be a little rough, but as long as you don't wander off Broad Street, things aren't going to be a problem. No one does live near the school anyway so it's not like you're going to get into any trouble walking home. And, supposedly it's really tough to specialize from an osteo background. So if you're not so hot on family practice, Temple's better. And since it's likely you'll be in debt no matter what school you go to, what's another 10,000 a year gonna matter?
Anyway, that's how I've convinced myself to be happy with Temple. I'm still on waiting lists for New Jersey schools, which are also my state schools.
